Ten members of the Theta Pi chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at the University of Texas at Tyler were recognized for excellence in academics through the fraternity’s Order of the Lamp academic honor society for the Spring 2016 semester.
Members attaining this honor are: Mr. Shane Conway, Mr. Garrett A. Dupree, Mr. Zachary T. Finch, Mr. Dylan S. Hayes, Mr. Aristeo C. Hernandez, Mr. Taylor H. Kemp, Mr. John D. McPhail, Mr. Kunal K. Patel, Mr. Sean M. Reinertson, and Mr. Peter J. Van Der Schans.
The Order of the Lamp is an academic honor society within the Greater Fraternity recognizing members who obtain a semester grade point average of 3.25 or higher, as well as graduating seniors who have attained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25. These men have received this honor because of their commitment to scholarship and their positive contributions to our fraternity.
Since Pi Kappa Phi’s inception in 1904, the Founders charted a clear path as scholars and promoted the importance of cultivating the intellect of members through both word and deed.
